Search amid the ferns and forests of rural Scotland and you’ll soon discover a network of forgotten railway stations (or halts) and tracks. A legacy of the fleet of whisky trains that once crisscrossed the country, serving local distilleries. Delivering barley, yeast and fuel, their carriages would leave laden with the finest Scotch, bound for the nation’s cities and ports.

As well as transporting goods, these rivers of steel also brought a steady stream of people, establishing communities – and with them livelihoods, friendships, and joy – along Scotland’s whisky routes.

Inspired by one such lost station, Grangestone Halt, Grangestone Single Malt Scotch Whisky celebrates the story of Scotland’s enterprising whisky trains; a story which, like their once gleaming tracks, might otherwise have faded into the mists of time.
